The D1000M series analog input modules are a complete family of data acquisition products that are well suited for applications based on personal computers, PLC’s or other supervisory computers that support the Modbus RTU serial protocol. The modules are ideal for creating or expanding distributed monitoring systems as they are small in size, mount on a DIN rail and operate on a wide power supply voltage input range.
The D1000M analog input modules measure DC voltages and current such as 4-20mA, thermocouples, RTD’s, thermistors, load cells and frequency. Each module provides an isolated 15-bit measurement, analog to digital conversion and a linearized data output. The data values are communicated to a host computer using the Modbus RTU serial protocol via an RS-232 or RS-485 serial port.
The D1000M series modules include discrete digital inputs and open-collector digital outputs. The digital inputs can be used to monitor contact status or switch closures. The digital outputs can be used to control solid-state relays or annunciators. The amount of digital I/O bits is model dependent, based on the sensor type and the number of sensor connections.
The D1701M and D1702M digital I/O modules contain seven discrete digital inputs and eight open-collector digital outputs for applications that require additional digital I/O capacity. The D1701M and D1702M communicate using the Modbus RTU serial protocol
