The D6000 Modbus analog and digital I/O modules are a complete family of data acquisition modules for use in process control systems. The analog input modules can measure process signals such as DC voltage, thermocouples, 4-20mA current loops, discrete contact closures. The analog output modules can generate two voltage or current signals for controlling annunciators or valves. The digital I/O modules contain fifteen discrete input or output bits for sensing contact closures or controlling solid-state relays and annunciators.

The D6000 modules communicate using the Modbus RTU serial protocol through an RS-485 serial port and support up to 247 devices on one RS-485 serial port.

The D6000 series features include individual analog range settings on a per channel basis, communications watchdog timer on analog and digital output modules, and Modbus communications settings. All settings are stored in nonvolatile EEPROM that maintains the user values after power is removed.
